The 1988 FA Cup Final was supposed to be a walk-over for Liverpool. They had already run away with the League and unfashionable Wimbledon were the only thing stopping them from becoming the first team to win the double twice. But the Crazy Gang weren't following anybody else's script, they were writing their own. Dave Beasant's historic penalty save and Laurie Sanchez's headed goal were enough to win it and remind the footballing world that nothing is impossible when you stick together.
