Win It Better - Print

When Brian Clough was sacked by League Champions Leeds United after only 6 weeks, he was asked by Don Revie why he had taken the job in the first place. He replied “I wanted to have a crack at the European Cup. I wanted to win it. I want to win the League but I want to win it better.” Thankfully, Second Divison Forest gave him the chance and it didn’t take him long to do exactly that. On another occasion he also said “Good managers make good sides. There is no such thing as a side making a manager.” Once again the Reds have a good manager who is putting together a good side. The tactics are positive, the ball is on the floor, the team spirit evident and discipline is good. Things are looking up and we are reminded that “There is a better way to play football”
